Most parents brag about how smart, athletic or cute there kid is (Ben is all of those by the way) but I am most proud of his sense of humor. For being almost three years old, he is really funny. Today he came up with another joke.

Ben - knock, knock
Me - who's there?
Ben - magic
Me - magic who?
Ben - magic beans!

I don't know where he came up with the term "magic beans" but he thinks it's funny. In fact, he's so fond of the term, he used it to describe to me what was in his diaper too.

This morning Ben was really in rare form. I don't know where all of this energy comes from. He won't start preschool until next fall but I think he's ready (or maybe I am) to start now. He spent the morning playing with Chops. Well, I guess you could call it playing. He chased her around the house with a mop while singing the clean up song. Then he ran from the front door to the back door, screaming. I wish we still lived in the country - our neighbors are going to start to wonder what goes on over here.

Tonite we went to Target in search of a Christmas tree. We gave our old one to Goodwill before we moved here. Dave and Ben scoped out the trees on Sunday and took me along tonite for the final approval. We decided on a tall, skinny tree with pinecones on it. Ben made sure to show me the pinecones several times. He also asked if he could get a "little tree". We bought him a 24" prelit tree that he's crazy about. When we came home he asked if we could put it in his room. He declared it was "beautiful" and sat in awe of it. He loves the different colored lights. When I put him to bed he asked if the tree could stay on. I'll sneak in his room later and unplug it - that kind of stuff makes me nervous.

Tomorrow is the beginning of December. What a fun month this should be. Ben's birthday, Christmas, trip to Ohio and so many other holiday activities to enjoy. Ben is at an age where he's getting excited about Christmas, which makes me super excited about Christmas. Can't wait to see what kind of fun we have this holiday season.
