Today we took Ben to Harpers Ferry, WV. What an absolutely beautiful place! We arrived at the park and took the shuttle down to the lower town. This was Ben's first bus ride and he thought it was pretty cool. We sure did more than our share of walking. The town is built into the side of a mountain so there were an outrageous amount of steps. Ben did really well, only requesting we carry him a few times. There were people there re-enacting the civil war (which I still don't get) but Ben was afraid of them. They were dressed like soldiers and he didn't like the looks of them. I didn't either - thought it was kind of weird. We hung out for a few hours and ended the day with a picnic lunch. Ben passed out before we crossed the state line - he was exhausted! We'll be heading back once the leaves change color - I need to start getting in shape for another monster hike with my two favorite monsters!
