As I was enjoying my last few moments of peaceful sleep this morning, I heard an odd sound. It kind of sounded like someone playing with change. I sprung up in bed, looked down the hall toward Ben's room but all I saw was Chops snoozing in the hall. Just as I sunk back into my slumber, I happened to look out of the corner of my eye and Ben was sitting on the floor next to the bed. He completely startled me! The sound I heard was him playing with his duck. The duck is full of "beans" and he was making it jump up and down. He found this to be quite hysterical. He then got up and jumped into bed with me and we snuggled for a few minutes before he ordered me to get his milk.
I took Ben to get a hair cut today. That is by far my most dreaded task to do with him. For someone so laid back, he sure freaks at the mention of doing anything to his hair. I had to sit with him on my lap, my arms wrapped around his upper body and my legs wrapped around his lower body. He screamed and cried the entire time. He kept saying "ouchie" even when the hairdresser wasn't touching his head. Finally, after what seemed like hours, his hair was done and he looks absolutely adorable.
In a few days we are heading to Ohio for the holidays. Ben can't stop asking if we are "going to grandmas today?" He is so excited - I can't wait for him to celebrate the holidays with his family and little friends. This is going to be the start of many, many really fun holidays!
