What a week! We traveled to Cleveland to celebrate Christmas this week. Poor Ben had a pretty bad cold, which he lovingly shared with me. Even though we were both sick, it was still a great Christmas. We stayed with Grandma, one of Ben's favorite people. When we arrived at her house on Sunday, there were presents waiting under the tree for Ben. Not sure how Santa knew we would be there, but he did. Ben had a blast opening presents - crayons, paper, puzzle, little people and a penguin game. On Wednesday, Ben's Aunt Monster, Cronster and Samonster came to see him. They said they were there for Grandma's birthday, but we know the truth. Our dear friend Tracey joined in the fun too. We went to lunch at one of Ben's favorite restaurants, Buffalo Wild Wings. Thursday, Christmas Eve, we went to Ben's Uncle Don and Aunt Heidi's house. Ben was overjoyed to see that Santa dropped off some presents for him there too. The biggest and most favorite score was a train table and 100 piece train set. We hung out there for awhile, visiting with Christy, Ryan and Grandma Shirley. Ben did so well considering he was sick and didn't get a nap that day. Christmas day we headed out to Aunt Monster's house. Again, Santa also stopped there and left presents for Ben. Ben was lucky enough to get a few trucks and a miniature style grand piano, complete with bench and song book. He was delighted to play it and looked absolutely adorable doing so. We headed back to Maryland on Saturday. We planned to stay until Sunday but my cold was getting worse and we all desperately needed to sleep in our own beds. When we got in Saturday night, we discovered Santa hit our place too. He left a workbench and truck under the tree in Ben's room. Ben must have been really good this year for Santa to hit four different houses for him. We spent today playing with our new toys. Ben insisted on taking one of his train cars to bed with him.
Seeing all of the excitement on Ben's face the last few days is what Christmas is all about. I'm so happy he reached an age where he's starting to "get" it. I'm looking forward to so many more adventures with the cutest person on the planet!
