Ben woke up with a birthday hangover today. He told us he missed his birthday and wanted it back. Dave asked him where his birthday was and he responded, "in the basement" - that's where we had the party.
Ben and Dave played with one of Ben's b-day presents today. His friend Ella gave him a Memory Game. Dave explained how to play it to Ben and he caught on quickly. In fact, Ben even beat Dave a few times - it was cute to watch the two of them play.
This morning we went for a ride on the Santa train. Ben loved the train but Santa freaked him (and me) out a little bit. The ride lasted a little over an hour and Ben really enjoyed the scenery and being on a train. Santa made his rounds from car to car. When he entered our car, he startled me. I think that made Ben a little leery of him. Santa sat with us for a few minutes but Ben wanted nothing to do with him. He burried his head into Dave's shoulder. Dave told Santa Ben was a little hungover from his birthday party the day before. Santa told us he had a party last night too, which was apparent from his lack of jolliness (is that a word?).
This evening our friend Christine came over to make cookies. She brought Ben a Mr. Potato Head for his b-day. Ben loved it and was so sweet when he kissed Christine and thanked her for the gift.
Ben also received a great present from his friend, Jack. Jack's mommy made a really cute card featuring pics of Ben and Jack together. They also sent him a shirt that said, "I ate Santa's cookies" - too cute! Ben sat and stared at the card for a while - he really liked seeing the pics of him and his buddy. I think he really misses Jack.
We don't have too much planned for this week. Ben has his three year check up on Tuesday - hope that goes well. Other than that, we're just gearing up for Christmas - can't wait.
